Is 100% coffee better?
Not automatically. It is coffee without chicory. Whether that is what you want depends on the cup you grew up with.
It is tempting to read the numbers as a quality ladder, with 100% at the top. They are not a ladder. They are a description of what is in the pack.
Choose 100% Coffee if
- You want to taste coffee on its own terms.
- You find chicory bitterness heavy or muddying.
- You drink your coffee with less milk.
Choose 80:20 if
- You grew up on filter coffee and want the cup you remember.
- You take a good amount of hot milk and want the coffee to hold its own.
- You like the body and colour chicory gives.
