This is a short policy because we collect only what we need to take and deliver your order. There is no customer account and no customer password on this site. Only Sundaram partners (people who recommend us with their own code) have a login.
The welcome offer
If you enter your mobile number to claim the welcome offer, we save it, together with the page you were on, the time, and the welcome code we give you. We use it to send you that code and, from time to time, an update about discounts on WhatsApp. We will not sell or share your number.
Your number is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. We keep it while we are in touch with you, delete it whenever you ask, and delete it automatically after 24 months without contact. To ask us to delete it, or to see what we hold, write to inquiry@sundaramcoffee.com or message us on WhatsApp.
To stop the offer card from nagging you, your browser remembers that you closed it for 2 days. We also count, without knowing who you are, how often the offer card is shown, closed or claimed, and which page it appeared on. To limit misuse, we keep a scrambled form of your connection address for up to a day; it cannot be turned back into the address.
Your cart
The items you add to your cart are stored in your own browser's local storage, on your own device, until you check out. Clearing your browser data clears it.
Placing an order
When you check out, we store your name, mobile number, email (if you give one), delivery address and the details of your order: the items, prices, any code used, the delivery charge and the payment status. We use them to fulfil, deliver and support your order, and to keep our sales records. They are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. We share your name, address and phone number only with the courier that delivers your order, and we do not sell your information.
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card, bank or UPI details go to Razorpay, never to us: we never see your card number or UPI PIN. Razorpay tells us the payment method, its reference and its fee. Razorpay may also send you its own payment receipt by SMS, email or WhatsApp.
For an order outside Tamil Nadu, the checkout opens WhatsApp with your order written out. Sending that message is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy; we use what you send only to confirm and fulfil that order.
If you leave "Remember my details on this device" ticked at checkout, your name, mobile, email and address are also kept in your own browser so your next order fills itself in. That copy stays on your device; untick the box, or use "Forget saved details", to remove it.
Partner codes and links
If you open this site from a partner's link or QR code, your browser keeps that partner's code for about six months, on your own device, so checkout can fill it in for you. It is removed when it can no longer be used. When you pay with a partner's code, the partner earns a commission. Partners see only the date and the amount of their commission for each order: never your name, mobile number, address or what you bought.
Sundaram partners
If you apply to be a partner, we store your name, mobile number, town and area, shop name and UPI ID (if you give them), and, once we approve you, your password. We give you a starting password and you choose your own when you first log in. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody at the shop can read yours. When you log in, the site sets one cookie that keeps you logged in for up to 30 days; it is used for nothing else and is removed when you log out. To limit misuse we count failed logins against a scrambled form of the mobile number and of your connection address, and delete those counts regularly. A login unused for 7 days ends. Your partner page shows your code, your commission amounts and what has been paid, never your customers' details.
Offers on WhatsApp
We send offers on WhatsApp only if you tick "Send me offers on WhatsApp" at checkout, or claimed the welcome offer. The records of orders you have placed are kept as our sales records.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising or tracking scripts, and we do not follow you around the site. The only cookie is the login cookie for Sundaram partners described above. The only counts we keep are the anonymous offer counts described above.
